New baptized members, rewarded Bible

New baptized members of the AFM Ethiopia -Apostolic Faith Mission Church Assella Assembly were rewarded Amharic and Afan-Oromo Bible according to their choice of languages.

First AFM Ethiopia Church Baptism

It has been so wonderful to see the newly baptized AFM Ethiopia -Apostolic Faith Mission Church Assella Assembly members worship God the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit with other old members and servants of God!

The Mission of AFM Ethiopia Church is:

To glorify God. To proclaim the Kingdom of God by preaching the gospel of Jesus Christ through the power of the Holy Spirit. To minister to the needs of the total person. To develop, equip and release believers into ministry. To extend the influence of the church beyond its boundaries and abroad. To promote the fellowship of the believers and to network ministries.

CONFESSION OF FAITH

The faith of our church is based on the following: WE BELIEVE in God eternal, triune, almighty creator, sustainer and ruler of all creation. WE BELIEVE in God the Father, the author of creation and salvation. WE BELIEVE in Jesus Christ the only Son of God the Father, true God who for the sake of humanity and its salvation, descended from heaven and became flesh; who was conceived by the Holy Spirit and was born by the virgin Mary; who lived on earth and was crucified, died and was buried, who rose from the dead and ascended to heaven where He is seated at the right hand of the Father. WE BELIEVE in the Holy Spirit, true God proceeding from the Father and the Son, who convicts the world of sin, righteousness and judgement and leads in all truth. WE BELIEVE that the Bible is the word of God, written by men as the Holy Spirit inspired them. We believe that it authoritatively proclaims the will of God and teaches us all that is necessary for salvation. WE BELIEVE that all human...

CHALLENGES OF PLANTING AFM ETHIOPIA

AFM Ethiopia church mission had faced three major problems like all other multilateral and separate local churches have been through. The first major event was the political unrest which later gave birth to the new reformist prime minister. Most of the cities in the country had been repeatedly flooded by violent youth demonstrations back then. All the political armed forces took strict follow up on meetings and unofficial gatherings. For, unfortunately, the arrival and movements of AFM Ethiopia church have had been on this time calendar, the road was not safe and smooth in promoting, launching and planting. Supportive leaders of different church unions were also less comfortable to fully engage in working with the idea and activities of AFM Ethiopia. The second big challenge to the mission was the new government on power. The reformers want to give the authority of the church back to itself after long decades of baby sitting and interference of the government. Though this was real good...

THE THREE MEN

(How Apostolic Faith Mission came to Ethiopia) Since December 2016, the AFM church planting concept has never been a mere idea for the spiritual world. Pastor Gossa Genna Hamda, being a mediator, has been confidently working on the project. He had been able to mobilize more than seven pastors to work with AFM church mission in Ethiopia, other than Pastor Nathan Tewoldeberhan Keweti who had been a former evabgelist at Assella and Addis Ababa Lutheran Church. Pastor Nathan has not just surprisingly visited South Africa for only six days, but has also been imparted in this AFM Ethiopia church planting burden with pastor Gossa in Pretoria, Geoburg and Johannesburg cities. Most of all, he has got the partnership marriage with the Sunnyside AFM local church to the Ethiopian mission. Now, at the Sunnyside AFM local church, Pastor Dr. Thomas Swift has been the back end of all prayers, empowerment trainings and financial aids from South Africa. He had officially launched the AFM Ethiopia Summit...
